SD-> LA

Los Angeles, the sprawling city of dreams and aspirations. The land of congestion, congestion, oh and congestion. Going from San Diego to Los Angeles is always a shock for me. San Diego, while also being crowded, is more spread out with room to breathe. The traffic moves and you can see the beautiful scenery while you are driving down the freeway. When you get to Los Angeles, you know you’re in Los Angeles. The freeways become slower and the scenery is smog ridden.

With all of that said, Los Angeles is a cool environment and I would definitely find myself there more if it wasn’t so crowded. Every street has hip store fronts lit up with the dreams of the owners. There is constant activity and always something to do. From Santa Monica shopping, to hiking the Hollywood sign trail, or exploring the Warner brother’s lot, you will never be bored.

Every time we drive up the 5, yes we really call our freeways by only their numbers, we find new places to go to.

This trip, my friend and I drove up to reconnect with our long time friend. Being a native to Los Angeles she took us around to a few of her favorite spots!

The Agenda: Mendocino Farms for sandwiches, Abbot Kinney blvd for a caffeine refill at Blue Bottle Coffee, DK donuts for a decadent treat, ending with sushi at the cheapest sushi place around, Sushi Stop. Don’t let the word cheap fool you. Everything on the menu was $2.95 and delicious.

Stay posted for more spots around SoCal to add to your list of things to do!

Cheers!
